COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Terms of Reference
1. Overall Objective:
The objective is to provide a conducive environment for youths to strengthen their civic commitment, participate in vocational training and reintegrate into appropriate economic value chains in Ijebu Imusin and its environment. The objective is to plan, undertake, support, enhance, and promote economic development initiatives within Ijebu Imusin. The Committee will be the primary economic liaison between the IPB Lagos Branch and the business community within Ijebu Imusin.
2. Specific Objectives;
i. Provide advice and support to the IPB on policies, procedures and strategic direction that should be considered for the purpose of: a. b. c. d. e. Creating an annual economic development plan aimed at growing economic activity
within the community Job creation, sustaining employment and business development Ijebu Imusin; Economic development marketing materials for the community; Identification of new business attraction opportunities, programs or strategies and business expansion and retention opportunities, programs or strategies; Selection and driving projects from (c) on which the IPB Lagos branch will focus
ii. Co-ordinate with the Social Development Committee to ensure that joint objectives are enhanced and duplication is avoided.
3. Expected Results
i. ii. Plan aimed at fostering economic development in Ijebu Imusin
Job creation, sustaining employment and business development in Ijebu Imusin;
4. Methodology
The methodology to be adopted for the realization of the above activity and the achievement of the said objectives will be a focus on:
i. Marketing of influential and high net worth indigenes of Imusin to develop and drive the initiatives
ii. Partnering with Governments and agencies that will support and promote the initiatives
5. Funding
The project will be funded by investments through the following channels:
i. iii. Identification of High Net-Worth individuals;
ii. Grants from relevant agencies
Others channels as may be identified by the Committee from time to time
6. Beneficiaries/Participants
i. ii. Direct beneficiaries: individuals and businesses within the community
Others as identified by the Committee
7. Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be determined by the Committee
8. Membership of the Committee
i. ii. iii. A member of the Executive Committee – Chairman
Six (6) other persons from the general assembly – Members
Four (4) of which are persons with experience in business management, economic development etc – Members
