TERMS OF REFERNCE FOR THE COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Purpose:
To develop and provide social services and activities which will contribute to the character, culture and identity of the Ijebu Imusin people. The activities of the Social Development Committee will ensure Ijebu Imusin is a vibrant, accommodating, inclusive and safe community to live for all people.
Responsibilities:
The focus of the Social Development Committee is on matters relating to social, cultural and community well-being.
The Committee shall:
i. ii. Promote active citizenship, community participation and community partnerships Work in partnership with key agencies, organizations, communities to deliver identified projects.
iii. Be innovative and creative in ways it conceives, develops, selects the projects to execute and the funding required for it. The Committee will specifically look into (but would not be limited by) issues and activities
relating to:
– Existing Community organizations’ activities
– Activities promoting our Culture and Heritage
– Intra & inter community events, programs and activities
• Science competitions / Spelling bees
• Masquerade shows, wrestling matches, etc
• Sports events (Athletics, football, basketball, Tennis)
– Tourism sites and amenities
– Community engagement and participation
Membership (5-9)
The Social Development Committee will comprise the following:
i. A member of the Executive Committee ii. Between four & eight (4-8) other persons from the general assembly iii. At least2 person in the committee must be in the entertainment or/and tourism industries
– Chairman
– Members
Funding
Activities of the Committee shall be funded by donations through the following channels:
Donations from High Net-Worth individuals;
Crowd Funding; and
Others channels as may be identified by the Committee from time to time
